Welcome to the Paul Rogers-Photography website.  I’ve been meaning to do this for a while and finally with a deal of help from colleagues I worked with at Blackpool (to whom I’m totally indebted) I’ve managed to get the images published.  

I wanted to indicate and attempt to explain with the website the sorts of images I make and the range of projects I’ve involved myself in over more years than I now want to recall.  The point is that I still enjoy making  pictures, have few inhibitions in using ‘happy-snaps’ where appropriate to try and come to more serious decisions and conclusions about  meaning , response, interpretation and affect related to the images.  

I am also indebted to the medium for allowing me opportunities to satisfy whatever creative instincts I have and for giving me an inordinate amount of pleasure and innumerable surprises for a minimum of effort or pain on my part - further proof, if needed, that it’s a forgiving medium to work with.

The site is designed to give an idea about some of the work I do but is not comprehensive.   I’ve separated projects and research because for me they are, or were different, some themes were choice on my part, others seemed to have been thrust upon me - I’ve enjoyed them all.   The site not comprehensive in that, for example, I’m now up to nearly 5000 images on the Blackpool Promenade project and any number of other ideas and ‘projects’ are waiting to be cultured from the present ones.
